How has your selected organization helped the environment?They have achieved hundreds of concrete policy victories for marine life and habitats. Some of the things they have done are stopping bottom trawling in sensitive habitats and protecting sea life from commercial fishing gear.
Write a five to seven-sentence informational paragraph about the important work of the organization you have selected.Some stuff Oceana has achieved is that they're campaigning for permanent protection for Frenchman Bay and Maine's coastal waters. To add on, they helped passed a new part of the Fisheries Act which states new rules that legally require depleted fish populations to be rebuilt. Additionally, they helped set appropriate catch limits for fishers which helps the suffering of decades of overfishing and excessive uncounted bycatch that environments suffered. To help out with ocean plastic pollution they ended up having Coca-Cola sell a quarter of its product in reusable packaging which would make a huge difference in the pollution which is pilling up in the ocean. Further on, they helped pass an act that will help an endangered shark get a chance at survival due to the new protections passed.
