Answer: I got you Fam
Explanation:
it is one competing demand for biologically productive space
Answer:
The carbon footprint is a very important means to understand the impact of a person's behavior on global warming. This is why someone who effectively wants to contribute to stopping global warming, at least on an individual scale, needs to measure and keep track of their personal carbon footprint.
Why is it important to track your ecological footprint?
The Ecological Footprint is a simple metric. It is also uniquely comprehensive. Not only does it measure humanity's demand on our planet's ecosystems, but it is also key to understanding the inter-related pressures of climate change on the natural ecosystems on which humanity depends.
Why is knowing your carbon ecological footprint important?
Knowing your personal or organisational carbon footprint is useful for the following reasons: it enables you to identify and reduce GG emissions, it allows corporations to publish their environmental performance statistics, it can be used as information to raise awareness of environmental costs.

Why is rock away from ocean ridges older? Is it because if the rocks are away from cracks in the crust, there is no way for any new rocks to form?
Answer:
the rocks are away from cracks in the crust
Explanation:
The new crust is pushed away from the Ocean Ridge in both directions as newer crust is formed. This is called sea floor spreading. The crust that makes up the sea floor starts to have time to accumulate a layer of sediments as it gets older and moves away from the Ocean Ridge.

Read "Python Invasion" and answer the questions on the right.
Python Invasion!
By Leigh Driver
For years, the number-one, most feared animal in Florida has been the alligator. But recently the Burmese python has been challenging the alligators’ long-held position. Burmese pythons are native to Asia, but they have found a new home in Florida. Their numbers are increasing dramatically. Today they can be found in the wild and in suburbs across the state. Burmese pythons have lightly-colored skin with brown patches, and they are admired for their skin patterns and size. But they are also massive hunters--among the largest top six snakes in the world--and they pose a danger to people, other animals, and the environment.
How Did They Get There?
The Burmese python has become more and more popular as a house pet. This caused a surge of imports of the snake to Florida. This is not the first time Florida has become home to a species of reptile intended to be kept as a pet. The state is the adopted home of several types of reptiles. The green iguana and the speckled caiman, a type of alligator, were brought to Florida as family pets. Now, many of theses creatures live in the wild. These animals may seem like exotic and fascinating alternatives to the family cat, but they are very difficult to maintain. People often found them hard to keep at home, so they released them to the wild.
The same thing is happening with the Burmese python, an animal that begins at a manageable three feet long on average but can grow up to 20 feet long and weigh up to 250 pounds. There have been several reports of deaths in homes where pythons are kept. When a python is fully grown, many owners find they can no longer handle their exotic reptile, and they simply release it outdoors.
Another factor has been the destructive hurricanes that Florida has suffered over the years. Sometimes storms damage pet stores and animal shelters, and the reptiles get loose. When people bring their other pets to shelters, it is sometimes easier to free the snakes because of overcrowding.
Environmental Impact
A python can survive very well in the Florida climate. In fact, the Florida Everglades are the perfect home for these snakes. Some experts estimate that there are up to 100,000 Burmese pythons living in the Everglades alone. But this surge of wild pythons is not without problems.
Releasing animals into an environment where they do not belong affects that environment and the species within it. Such animal populations are referred to as a non-native species. While few creatures prey on it, the python competes with other animals in the territory. For example, alligators compete for prey with pythons. As these snakes breed and thrive, they threaten the survival of the alligators. Other animal populations may also be harmed by the presence of pythons, and Floridians who are concerned about conservation have publicized the dangers of this situation.
Danger to People
Another growing concern is that the Burmese python can seriously harm people. A python can eat an animal as large as a full-grown deer, and it is extremely difficult to control the powerful creature. Some Floridians believe that keeping these snakes as pets is simply not safe.
What Can Be Done?
Scientists and citizens have become more and more worried about the “invasion” of the Burmese python into the Florida wild. There have been proposals to ban the importation of snakes or to make it illegal to keep these animals as pets, but so far no laws have been passed. Some have even proposed destroying the pythons living in the Everglades to get rid of the problem.

Describe 3 factors an engineer should take into consideration when choosing material for building the pipes in a pipeline
Gr. 8
Think it has something to do with Viscosity, Density, and Pressure but not sure what
Answer: 1. Material being transported 2. The temperature of the material being transported 3. How long the pipes will be there (lifespan)
Explanation: 1. - The pipe builder should consider the material being transported to choose the correct material of the pipes to use, so they last long and can hold the material.
2. - Similar to 1, the pipe builder should consider the temperature of the material to choose the correct material of the pipes to use, so the pipes don’t break and function properly.
3. - If the pipe builder uses a material that can hold the material, that’s great! If that material will last a short time, it would not work if the pipes were to be used for a long time.
The things you said before about viscosity, density, and pressure are also correct. The correct answers are mainly talking about factors of the material being used in the pipes.

A 0.311 kg tennis racket moving 30.3 m/s east makes an elastic collision with a 0.0570 kg ball moving 19.2 m/s east find the velocity of the tennis ball after the collision
Answer:
38.0 m/s east
Explanation:
Momentum is conserved.
m₁u₁ + m₂u₂ = m₁v₁ + m₂v₂
(0.311) (30.3) + (0.0570) (19.2) = (0.311) v₁ + (0.0570) v₂
10.52 = 0.311 v₁ + 0.0570 v₂
In an elastic collision, kinetic energy is conserved.
½ m₁u₁² + ½ m₂u₂² = ½ m₁v₁² + ½ m₂v₂²
m₁u₁² + m₂u₂² = m₁v₁² + m₂v₂²
(0.311) (30.3)² + (0.0570) (19.2)² = (0.311) v₁² + (0.0570) v₂²
306.5 = 0.311 v₁² + 0.0570 v₂²
Solve the system of equations.
0.311 v₁ = 10.52 − 0.0570 v₂
v₁ = 33.82 − 0.1833 v₂
306.5 = 0.311 (33.82 − 0.1833 v₂)² + 0.0570 v₂²
306.5 = 0.311 (1144 − 12.40 v₂ + 0.03360 v₂²) + 0.0570 v₂²
306.5 = 355.7 − 3.856 v₂ + 0.01045 v₂² + 0.0570 v₂²
0 = 0.06745 v₂² − 3.856 v₂ + 49.16
Use quadratic formula.
v₂ = [ 3.856 ± √(14.87 − 13.26) ] / 0.1349
v₂ = 19.2 or 38.0
We know v₂ isn't 19.2 m/s, so v₂ = 38.0 m/s.
The velocity of the ball after the collision is 64.5 m/s.
The west direction is regarded as the negative direction and the east direction as the positive direction.
Based on the given information,
• The mass of the tennis racket, m1 is 0.311 kg.
• The mass of the tennis ball, m2 is 0.057 kg.
• The initial velocity of the tennis racket, v1 is 30.3 m/s.
• The initial velocity of the tennis ball, v2 = -19.2 m/s.
• Let v3 be the velocity of the tennis racket after the collision and v4 be the velocity of the tennis ball after the collision.
As the collision is elastic, thus, the coefficient of restitution, that is, e is 1.
\(e = \frac{v4-v3}{v1-v2} \\1 = \frac{v4-v3}{30.3-(-19.2)} \\49.5 = v4-v3\\v3 = v4-49.5\\\)
According to the conservation of linear momentum,
\(m1v1+m2v2=m1v3+m2v4\)
Now putting the values we get,
\((0.311)(30.3)+(0.057)(-19.2) = (0.311)(v4-49.5)+(0.057)v4\\9.4233-1.0944=0.311v4-15.3945+0.057v4\\23.7234=0.368v4\\v4 = 64.5 m/s\)
Thus, the velocity of the tennis ball post collision is 64.5 m/s.
