suppose you are designing a system with paged segmentation, and you anticipate the memory segment size will be uniformly distributed between 0 and 4 gb. the overhead of the design is the sum of the internal fragmentation and the space taken up by the page tables. if each page table entry uses four bytes per page, what page size minimizes overhead? hint: you can consider the overhead for a single segment at a time, as the overhead will scale linearly with the number of segments (independently of the page size). the minimum will occur when the overhead due to internal fragmentation (one half the page size) is the same as the overhead due to the page table size for an average size segment (4 bytes per entry x 2 gb, divided by the page size).

Answers

Answer 1

To minimize overhead in a paged segmentation system, we need to determine the optimal page size. The memory segment size is expected to be uniformly distributed between 0 and 4 GB.

The overhead of the design is the sum of internal fragmentation and the space occupied by page tables. Each page table entry consumes four bytes per page. To find the optimal page size, we need to equate the overhead due to internal fragmentation (one half of the page size) to the overhead due to page table size for an average size segment (4 bytes per entry x 2 GB, divided by the page size). Solving this equation gives us the optimal page size. As the number of segments increases, the overhead will scale linearly, independently of the page size. Therefore, by finding the optimal page size, we can minimize the overhead and ensure efficient use of memory in the paged segmentation system.

what is the maximum hang time for enteral feeding in an open system?

Answers

The maximum hang time for enteral feeding in an open system typically ranges from 4 to 8 hours, depending on the specific guidelines and recommendations.

Enteral feeding refers to the administration of nutrients directly into the gastrointestinal tract through a feeding tube. In an open system, the enteral feeding formula is exposed to the external environment, making it susceptible to microbial contamination. Therefore, it is crucial to follow appropriate guidelines for hang time, which refers to the duration that the feeding bag remains connected to the feeding tube. The maximum hang time for enteral feeding in an open system varies based on factors such as the type of feeding formula, patient's condition, and healthcare facility protocols. Generally, the recommended maximum hang time ranges from 4 to 8 hours. This time frame helps ensure the safety and integrity of the feeding formula, minimizing the risk of bacterial growth and contamination. It is important to note that healthcare professionals should adhere to specific institutional policies and guidelines regarding enteral feeding hang times. These guidelines may vary based on the patient's condition, the type of formula being used, and the recommendations of healthcare regulatory bodies. Regular monitoring, proper storage, and appropriate handling of enteral feeding bags and equipment are crucial to maintaining the safety and efficacy of enteral nutrition administration.

I think Gboard is good, you can switch between languages quickly and you can translate in real time. Translation is not perfect, but it is the best translation available. Vocabulary and autocorrect is not bad too. You can change the background. It has some themes of its own, but you can always customise it with your own photo. It has instant gif, stickers and emoji options too. It also has a good collection of symbolic emojis like: *\0/*O_o(๑♡⌓♡๑)ᕙ( • ‿ • )ᕗ(☉。☉)!I cannot include all of them, they are in 100s.

But if you are looking for a solution for grammatical mistakes, then you may want to consider Grammarly.

\(\boxed{\underline{\bf \: ANSWER}}\)

Well, just like the person before me has answered ; I prefer Gboard, a keyboard provided by Go.ogle over all the other options ones available while using android. As you can see in the attached picture, I use Gboard & have been using it for quite a lot of years now as well. Gboard provides smooth surface for typing & there's glide technology as well. There's an option to pin your clipboard (which I find really helpful) & tons of built-in emojis, emoticons (this feature is not available in many), GIFs & so on. Also you can customize your keyboard by changing themes (you can either select one of the many backgrounds they have or choose one you like; in my case I have a blue scenery clipart as my background which matches my phone's overall theme). You can also use Gboard if you prefer to text in more than 1 language (this feature is available in many other keyboards as well though).

Now moving on, I would suggest the Samsung Keyboard too (that is, of you are using Samsung gadgets). The only reason I prefer Gboard over this keyboard is because you can't customize Samsung Keyboard (you can only choose White/Dark mode). Also, emoticons aren't available.

Then at last, there's the Grammarly Keyboard. This keyboard is really good if you are looking for writing essays, paragraphs or speeches as it catches all your grammar errors. But at times, it can be a bit too much & the keyboard is not overall smooth to use (at least for me).

So there, these 3 are the best keyboards for Android users.

Attempts to use computer technologies to enhance learning began with the efforts of pioneers such as Atkinson and Suppes (e.g., Atkinson, 1968; Suppes and Morningstar, 1968). The presence of computer technology in schools has increased dramatically since that time, and predictions are that this trend will continue to accelerate (U.S. Department of Education, 1994). The romanticized view of technology is that its mere presence in schools will enhance student learning and achievement. In contrast is the view that money spent on technology, and time spent by students using technology, are money and time wasted (see Education Policy Network, 1997). Several groups have reviewed the literature on technology and learning and concluded that it has great potential to enhance student achievement and teacher learning, but only if it is used appropriately (e.g., Cognition and Technology Group at Vanderbilt, 1996; President’s Committee of Advisors on Science and Technology, 1997; Dede, 1998).

Tolls on moving livestock, exporting their own animals, and leasing their territory for grazing were all sources of income for the tribes.

There were several cattle drives between 1867 and 1893. Cattle drives were conducted to supply the demand for beef in the east and to provide the cattlemen with a means of livelihood after the Civil War when the great cities in the northeast lacked livestock.

what important part of support for object-oriented programming is missing in simula 67?

Answers

Simula 67 is a programming language developed in the 1960s, which is considered the first object-oriented programming (OOP) language. It introduced the concepts of classes, objects, and inheritance, which are fundamental to modern OOP languages. However, there is an important part of support for object-oriented programming that is missing in Simula 67.

The missing element in Simula 67 is "polymorphism". Polymorphism is a key principle of OOP that allows objects of different classes to be treated as objects of a common superclass. It enables the programmer to write more flexible and reusable code, as the same function or method can be used with different types of objects, simplifying code maintenance and enhancing code reusability. In Simula 67, programmers could not fully utilize polymorphism, as it lacks support for dynamic dispatch, which allows a method to be resolved at runtime based on the actual type of the object rather than its declared type.

While Simula 67 played a crucial role in the development of object-oriented programming, it lacked support for polymorphism, a vital OOP concept. This limitation prevented the full potential of OOP from being realized within the language, and it was not until the advent of languages like Smalltalk and later, C++, that polymorphism became an integral part of OOP, contributing to its widespread adoption and success in software development.

If category is "new" and age is 20, the values of val1 and val2 as a result of executing the code segment is val1 = true, val2 = false. Option b is correct.

`val1`: The first part of the expression is `NOT (category = "new")`, which evaluates to `NOT (false)`, resulting in `true`. Since `age ≥ 65` is `false` in this case (20 is not greater than or equal to 65), the overall expression becomes `true OR false`, which evaluates to `true`. Therefore, `val1` is `true`.

`val2`: The condition for `val2` is `(category = "new") AND (age < 12)`. Both conditions need to be true for the overall expression to be true. In this case, `category = "new"` is true, and `age < 12` is false since 20 is not less than 12. Hence, the overall expression becomes `true AND false`, which evaluates to `false`. Therefore, `val2` is `false`.

Therefore, the values of `val1` and `val2` as a result of executing the code segment with `category` as "new" and `age` as 20 are:

`val1 = true`

`val2 = false`

Thus, option b is correct.

Please helpA ferry that carries passengers and vehicles across a channel charges a base rate of $30 per vehicle. The first two passengers are included in this price, but each additional passenger is charged $5. Additionally, the ferry charges more for vehicles over 4,000 pounds. The rate for excess weight is $10 per 500 pounds.-Write an equation for this situation.-Find the cost of a truck that weighs 5,000 pounds with three passengers. discuss the purpose of human rights day A company examines two mutually excluded projects. Both require capital equipment with life time duration 5 years. The first investment will bring net cash flow 25000 the first year and will grow at 12% annually. Equipment will cost 90000 euros and its residual value at the end of the fifth year will be 10000 euros. The second investment will bring net cash flow of 52000 euros in the first year which will grow at 12% annually. The equipment will cost 205000 and its residual value at the end of the 5th year will be 12000 euros. The company will use the fixed amortization method and the market nominal rate will be 13%. Net cash flows are nominal. Which investment will be accepted according to NPV and IRR? If both NPV and IRR lead to conflicting results, which method you would choose and why? 14. Without solving it, rewrite the differential equation as an equivalent set of first order equations. In your answer use the single letter u to represent the function and the single letter v to represent the "velocity function" u'. Do not use u(t) or v(t) to represent these functions. Expressions like sin(t) that represent other functions are OK. u' = V = Now write the first order system using matrices: U d 40-6 = + dt V The initial value of the vector valued solution for this system is: u(1) [3] -[ v(1) Consider the following set of functional dependencies on the relation schema R = (A, B, C, D, E, F).Compute the attribute closures:A BCDBC DEAB CDDABDa) {A}+ =b) {B, C}+ =c) {A, B}+ =d) {D}+ =e) {B}+ = How many moles of carbon monoxide would be needed to react with 100 g FeO3?
