In my life, I have been exposed to a challenge called change. Change can occur in many different ways and is dealt with in many different ways. I have come to the awareness that change can be the deepest of all things. I always thought that change occurred when you moved to a state or when you lost someone real close to you. Those are a challenge to change, yes, but change doesn’t have to occur over a climactic incident. It can just appear overnight when your brain winds up when it’s time to do something different. Even with friends that you used to have and know that move on. For example, most of my friends from elementary school, I don’t even talk to them anymore. For obvious reasons, people will turn down the changes in life.

Write a narrative from the perspective of Grendel, the monster in the epic tale Beowulf. Your story must center on a conflict that reveals something important about the main character.

Answers

Answer:

Grendel was returning to the castle again. He had repeatedly attacked the Heorot , able to bring fresh meat to his house. Once there, he would have his feast with his mother.

"They must have some kind of trap prepared for me" he thought.

He didn't care much about it, as in the past no one could stop him, no matter what they tried.

He easily entered the fort and attacked one of the men without much opposition. However, the next warrior was different. The beast is surprised to be attacked by a man with his bare hands.

"This cannot be. I shall tear him to pieces" he decided.

Grendel chased the mighty warrior into the halls, but was also attacked back by him . He had never seen such courage and strength in man before. But he was also lonely, very different from the others.

"It's too dark, and the other warriors won't let me focus on him. I shall escape and return later."

However, without realizing it, the warrior trapped his arm. The great monster tried to free himself as much as he could, but he couldn't.

Finally, he had to throw away his arm and run. The warrior's strong determination had convinced Grendel that he could not defeat him. It didn't seem like there was anything to lose for him, and this made the monster give away courage for the first time in his life.

Answer:

Putt… putt… putt… putt. The slow, repetitive noise echoed throughout Grendel’s head as he trudged along the soggy forest floor, a familiar path followed, with a familiar goal in mind. A familiar dull feeling consumed his every thought. True emptiness.

Putt… putt… putt… putt. He was nearing Heorot, his target location. He had attacked here many times, but was yet to leave unsuccessful. “Is this really what life has come to?” Grendel wondered. This is not the life Grendel wanted, but it was the life he was given. He had to face a choice, peace or survival.

Putt… putt… putt… putt. There it was, the front entrance. Grendel trudged through the front gate, unmotivated to act upon the oncoming soldiers, but his instincts soon took over. The first soldier reached Grendel and swung his weapon, barely missing Grendel due to his dodge. Grendel backhanded him with extreme force, breaking the man’s spine upon impact. The second soldier came barreling towards him, to which Grendel swooped up, and ripped him in half.

Next was the third soldier. Something was different about this one. It wasn’t the obvious difference of him being bare handed and not charging right at Grendel. It was the fact that Grendel could feel his aura. The two locked eyes, “who… or what are you?” Grendel asked the stranger. No reply. Was this the challenge Grendel had been looking for? “You’re dead, hear me!?” Grendel screamed before charging at the man - adrenaline coursing through his veins as he ran.

Grendel swung, the man dodged. Grendel swung again, the man dodged again. This time Grendel tried grabbing the man with both hands, to which the man quickly dodged and hit him with a right hook to the side of the rib cage, and a left hook to the stomach. Grendel had been winded. The man took his opportunity and trapped Grendel’s right arm. A whistling sound filled Grendel’s ears.

Suddenly, Grendel felt a sharp pain in his left quad. He looked down to see an arrow sticking out of his leg. It was then that Grendel knew he couldn't win. “I have to escape,” Grendel thought to himself, “but how? My arm is trapped.” That’s when Grendel realized what he had to do. He tore his arm clean off for the sake of survival. The behemoth screamed in pain, but he was free. Grendel then proceeded to run through the gate and back home. “I will be back” he thought to himself.

D. ) Said their nevers they slept their dreams

Answers

The words or phrases that show that other people's relationships are not as special as anyone and no one's are option C: "Sleep wake hope and then they."

In stanza 5, the words "Sleep wake hope and then they" imply a sense of routine and mundanity in other people's relationships. These words suggest that while others go through the motions of sleeping, waking, and hoping, the speaker and their love interest have a unique and special connection that surpasses these ordinary experiences. By contrasting the ordinary actions of others with the uniqueness of the speaker's relationship, the stanza emphasizes the exceptional nature of the bond between the speaker and their beloved. The repetition of these words also reinforces the idea that other people's relationships lack the depth and significance found in the speaker's connection.

3.Lack of education
4.Inequality

Answers

Answer:

Title: Lack of Education Remains a Persistent Problem in Many Communities

Article: Despite progress in expanding access to education in recent years, a significant number of people still lack access to quality education. This is particularly true in low-income and rural areas, where inadequate funding and a shortage of trained teachers can make it difficult for children to receive a good education.

The lack of education can have serious consequences for individuals and communities. Without a good education, people may have limited job opportunities and may struggle to earn a living wage. This can contribute to a cycle of poverty and inequality, as people with limited education are more likely to face economic and social disadvantages.

Furthermore, a lack of education can also have broader impacts on society. For example, research has shown that education can help reduce crime rates and improve public health. Educated individuals are also more likely to be engaged in their communities and to participate in the political process.

Therefore, it is important for communities to prioritize education and to provide adequate resources to ensure that all children have the opportunity to receive a good education. This can help break the cycle of poverty and inequality, and can lead to a more prosperous and equitable society for all.

One Saturday, Gilbert met me in the library and we flipped through books we thought might be fun. I couldn't study all the time. One book that caught my attention was the Malawi Junior Integrated Science book, used by Form Four students. Hmm, I thought, and flipped it open. There were lots of pictures and diagrams, which I found easy to understand. I saw pictures of cancer and scabies and children stricken with kwashiorkor, like so many who'd wandered the country. Supreme Court Landmark Series: Tinker v. Des Moines

from uscourts.gov

In 1965, students at Des Moines schools in Iowa were suspended for staging protests. Their actions resulted in a legal battle that eventually went to the Supreme Court.

The Supreme Court used the case of Tinker v. Des Moines to make a very broad statement and establish a rule for protecting the speech rights of students during the school day. They began by saying that students don’t lose their constitutional rights at the schoolhouse gates.

It’s a landmark case because it made very clear that we need to take the civil liberties of students seriously while they’re on school campuses. Teaching young people how to exercise their rights of citizenship and allowing them to do it is at the heart of our democracy. If you cut off speech while people are learning both their own personalities and identities, and also how to behave in the world, you minimize the likelihood that they’ll be active participants in democracies.

The court case continues to impact our lives today because it has been used to protect students’ speech that schools have improperly cut off. That’s why it’s so important for average citizens, children, and their families to know the law, use it, and be prepared to stand up for it.
